Call for Papers - Inaugural Issue

02-07-2026

Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Materials invites submissions for its inaugural issue, now open. We seek cutting-edge research and insightful reviews at the intersection of AI and sustainable materials. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

·         AI and ML for Eco-Friendly Material Design (polymers, composites, nanostructures)

·         Data-Driven Predictive Modeling of Material Performance and Recyclability

·         Machine Learning for Lifecycle and Environmental Impact Analysis of Materials

·         Generative and Inverse Design Methods for Green Materials

·         AI-Enabled Circular Economy and Resource-Efficient Manufacturing

·         Materials Informatics and Sustainability Metrics (big data approaches)

·         Applications in Renewable Energy, Green Construction, Biopolymers, and Biodegradable Systems

·         Hybrid Physics-AI Approaches for Sustainable Technologies

Authors are encouraged to submit original research, reviews, or technical notes presenting novel algorithms, models, or experimental results. Interdisciplinary work that combines computation with experimental validation is especially welcome. Manuscripts should be prepared as per the EAI Endorsed Transactions on AI for Sustainable Materials format and submitted through the journal’s online system. All submissions will be peer reviewed and, if accepted, published online following author proof. Join us in launching a premier forum for green innovation through AI!

Unique Positioning and Novelty Statement

Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Materials is unique in its exclusive focus on the synergy between cutting-edge AI/ML and environmentally sustainable materials. Unlike existing journals (which may focus on materials science, AI algorithms, or sustainability separately), this journal bridges these domains to address urgent global challenges (e.g. climate change, resource scarcity). Our novelty lies in bringing together two fast-evolving fields: AI-driven discovery and sustainable engineering. We will publish interdisciplinary work ranging from fundamental ML methodology tailored for materials, to applied studies of green technologies – a combination not fully covered by any current journal.

By emphasizing data-driven sustainability, we position the journal at the forefront of contemporary research trends. For example, recent analyses show that “the growing connection between AI and eco-friendly materials has made it possible to completely change the way things are made”. Our journal is the platform to accelerate this transformative change. The tagline “Where Smart Algorithms Meet Green Innovation” encapsulates our mission. The journal’s value proposition is its pioneering scope: it will rapidly become the go-to forum for researchers who apply AI/ML techniques to make materials more eco-friendly, efficient, and fit for a sustainable future. By fostering this community and maintaining the EAI Endorsed Transactions Journal’s high publication standards, AI for Sustainable Materials will fill a critical gap and drive innovation at the nexus of technology and sustainability.
