Examining Thinking Skills and Higher Education Using Educational Technologies-Teaching

SCOPE:

Since the turn of the millennium, educational councils, business organizations, and certification authorities have all emphasized the significance of teaching students how to think critically as part of their higher education curriculum. As scientific multidisciplinary, market dynamism, social transformation, and global interconnection have grown, so has the value of critical thinking abilities. Many worthwhile efforts have been made to integrate thinking skills into higher education pedagogy, but for the majority of higher education institutions, effective, measurable, and sustainable teaching of thinking skills remains a distant objective. It is necessary to use appropriate models, methods, and instruments for both teaching and assessing thinking skills in higher education pedagogy. For teaching in general and the development of thinking skills in particular, advanced technologies for active learning are more critical than ever. The focus of this issue is on innovative approaches to teaching, assessing, and implementing critical thinking abilities in higher education.
