Recent Advances in Artificial Intelligence for Smart Applications

SCOPE:

Nowadays, due to ongoing socio-economic digitalization, the vision of Smart Cities has emerged. Therefore, the Internet of Things/Everything connects urban life. The concept of Smart Cities integrates information and communication technologies to improve the quality of experience.

Recent developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) have significantly advanced Smart City applications. The concept of Smart Cities is equipped with IoT enabled wireless sensor networks which use to collect, analyze and communicate overall data. AI in Smart Cities will make it possible to process large amounts of data and gain experience in a sustained context by analyzing big data and performing autonomous actions without human intervention. However, novel concept of “AI enabled Smart Towns” is introduced which will reduce living cost of humans. Also, security counter measures can be ensured and end-to-end delay problem will be solved.  

The purpose of this special issue is to solicit cutting-edge research and discuss the opportunities offered by various researchers, academics, and industry experts regarding Artificial Intelligence in the evolution of Smart Cities. This special issue will focus on research, methodologies, platforms, services, and applications using Artificial Intelligence to realize the concept of Smart Cities.
