Data Security and Privacy Protection in New Distributed Networks and System

SCOPE AND DETAILS

In an era where cloud computing, blockchain, and artificial intelligence technologies are deeply integrated and rapidly permeating various fields, new distributed networks and systems are reshaping the landscape of digital infrastructure at an unprecedented pace. However, at the same time, challenges related to data security and privacy protection have escalated into core bottlenecks restricting their sustainable development. With the decentralized evolution of distributed architectures, the normalization of cross-domain data flows, and the widespread application of intelligent algorithms, risks such as data leakage, permission abuse, model poisoning, and privacy inference have exhibited characteristics of stronger concealment, more complex attack paths, and wider impact ranges. For instance, the distributed storage of blockchain nodes faces the issue of ambiguous permission boundaries in cross-chain data sharing; in cloud-edge-end collaboration scenarios, the limited computing power of edge devices restricts the deployment of encryption schemes; and in new collaborative models like federated learning, attackers may still steal sensitive data through gradient inversion. These problems not only threaten user rights and interests as well as industrial security but also pose severe challenges to national digital governance capabilities.

Against this backdrop, academia and industry are in urgent need of a high-end platform that focuses on cutting-edge advancements and integrates collective wisdom. Such a platform would systematically sort out the core challenges of data security and privacy protection in new distributed networks and systems, refine key technological directions, and drive theoretical innovations and practical breakthroughs. This special issue will mainly focus on technical research on security and privacy protection in distributed networks and systems. Experts, scholars, and researchers in related fields are warmly invited to contribute their manuscripts.
